Nail Art, Chalk & Glitter Markers

Some surfaces need their own ink. Nail art pens carry a high-pigment polish-friendly ink with a fine tip for dots and lines and a brush tip for soft strokes. Liquid chalk markers write bright on glass and chalkboards and wipe off with a damp cloth. Glitter pens lay down dense, shimmering water-based ink through a sturdy 0.7mm tip.

They sit on one shelf because they share one idea: the mark should suit the place it lands, whether that is a fingernail, a car window or a greeting card.

Which specialty marker for which job

Nail art pens are for manicures at home: dots, stripes, florals and tiny lettering, finished with a top coat. Liquid chalk markers are for menus, shop windows, car windows for a game day or a wedding, and classroom boards. Glitter pens are for cards, journals, pumpkin decorating and craft projects that should sparkle on light or dark paper.

Nail art pens: clean designs at home

Start with a base coat and let it dry fully. Draw with light, short strokes: the fine tip makes dots and lines, the brush tip fills petals and swooshes. If a line goes wrong, a small clean-up brush dipped in remover fixes it before the ink sets. Finish with a top coat to protect the design and add shine.

The dual-tip layout is the same idea as our alcohol markers and paint pens, so if you already color with an AnyMark set, the pens will feel familiar in your hand. Beginners usually start with 12 or 24 colors and move up to 36 or 48 once they want pastel shades and more vibrant colors for seasonal looks.

Liquid chalk markers on glass and boards

Shake the marker with the cap on, then press the jumbo tip on scrap until the color flows. Write on clean, dry glass or a sealed chalkboard. For crisp lettering, hold the 15mm tip at an angle for a fine edge; lay it flat for bold fills. To remove, wipe with a damp cloth, or a glass cleaner for designs that have stayed up for weeks.

Glitter pens for cards and crafts

Glitter ink shows best on smooth paper and card. Let each line dry before you touch it, and add a second pass for more sparkle. On dark card the metallic colors read bright without a white base, which makes them a favorite for holiday cards, journal headers and sketch pages that need a little shine next to alcohol-marker color.

Specialty markers and the rest of the art table

These pens are made to sit next to our art markers, not to replace them. Alcohol markers carry alcohol-based ink for blending on paper: the ink dries within seconds, the colors are blendable, and chisel tips cover backgrounds fast. Artists who make cards often color the background with alcohol-based markers, outline the design in glitter and add a dot pattern for texture.

If you are building a first art kit, start with a dual-tip alcohol markers set for paper, then add one of these for the surfaces paper never reaches: nails, windows and dark card. Smooth blending happens on paper; sparkle and wipe-clean color happen everywhere else.

Gift ideas from this shelf

A 12-color nail art set makes a small gift for a teen, liquid chalk markers suit a new driver or a café owner, and glitter pens fit into a stocking next to a sketchbook. For the art lover who already has the basics, pair one of these with an alcohol markers set or a box of paint pens, and the whole art table is covered.
